Welcome to Art 100.
In this class we will take a thematic approach to art history.
Our framework will be provided by a reading of Scott McCloud's
book, Understanding Comics. Our intention is to look
at the history of art as the story of the development of the
idea of sequentialism in art. We will look at samples from
the history of world art, as well as samples of comic art.
In order to tie these trends in with contemporary culture
we will look at how sequentialism has brought us into the
age of moving pictures.
