Description
Filling objects and forms with convincing textures is the object of this assignment. You will first of all construct a collage out of materials with contrasting textures. Next you will make a black and white drawing from your collage.
Materials
Process
Bring a bag of objects and materials that have contrasting textures with you to be assembled in class. Your collage should be about 8.5x11 inches.
When you have completed your collage make a drawing of it. Your drawing can be anywhere from 8.5x11 inches to 9x14 inches.
Mount and submit your drawing for critique Evaluation
I will be judging this assignment on two aspects. The first will be your ability to intergrate the objects of your collage into a harmonious composition full of interestingly contrasted materials and textures. Second, your assignment will be graded on the descriptiveness of your pencil technique in reproducing the textures of your collage.
