Drawing 1

Drawing 1 is a beginner's class that will expose you to the fundamental skills that make drawing a practice that engages your conceptual and perceptual abilities. You will learn about drawing as mark-making, gesture and pattern. You will learn methods for representing objects in space through the use of light and shadow as well as various techniques of perspective. in class drawing assignments will be supported by weekly sketchbook assignments, films, in class critiques, and writing about art. Afternoon classes will also go on a field trip to a local museum.
