Your sketchbook will be evaluated 4 times over the course of the semester. Please note: Content is subject to change.
Each sketchbook evaluation is worth 4% for an overall subtotal of 16% of your final grade.
First Evaluation
Value: 4%
Due: 9/18
Week 1 (8/19)
Use your sketchbook to capture people as they go about their daily lives. Draw quickly and fill the page with several gesture drawings. Fill at least 5 pages.
Week 2 (8/26)
Do at least 3 blind contour drawings of your hands and 3 of your feet and and feet.
Week 3 (9/2)
Create 5 relatively quick (10-15 minutes each) modeled drawings of people. Use a variety of techniques stippling, massing, and shadow modeling.
Week 4 (9/9)
Download and copy this drawing of the human skeleton. Include the labels for each bone.
Extra credit: Download and copy this drawing of the male nude by Michelangelo. Try and capture as much detail as you can.
Week 5 (9/16)
Download and copy this drawing of the dissected nude by de Amusco. Concentrate on the torso only. Try and capture as much detail as you can.
