Rhythm

In music rhythm is "the beat." It is a sense of movement from one chord to the next, a flow, an accent pattern, or stresses.

In design you can also think of rhythm as the beat except with a beat established by visual elements instead of sound.

Rhythm is a pattern created by repeating or varying elements with consideration especially given to the space in between. And by establishing movement from one to the other.

Repetitious patterns rhythms are predominantly consistent and predictable

Variable rhythms may also follow a pattern but change out of it in unexpected and unanticipated ways by switching color, size,spacing , position and visual weight.
