Contrasts
| Is your goal to create a calm and harmonious
layout? If so, then use one type family and add emphasis by
simply bolding or italicizing the sections you want to stand
out.
This concordant example has a
slight amount of treatment. The initial cap is larger than
the rest of the type and the words "full of sound and
fury" have been italicized. The effect is rather subdued.
The type, header, text and
border have all been given a bold treatment. The effect is
straight ahead and well balanced.
The typeface, the thin border
and the little graphic ornaments have a unified look.
