Alphabetical Schemes

Best when you have:

1. a large number of entries and

2. your audience knows the name of their target

Reason: Allows a partial random access if users can guess where the list for each letter begins.

Weakness:

• it doesn't support browsing well since neighbors are near lexicographically ( refers to the proximity within an ordered structure)but not semantically (refers to the meanings a word can have).  

•  fails if there are too many words that look the same.
