 Overview

The growth of the World Wide Web means that people with serious sight problems and other disabilities now have the opportunity to enjoy a wealth of information and services that was previously unavailable to them, from up-to-the-minute news and travel timetables to online shopping and banking. With the help of synthesised speech and braille display technology, even completely blind people can use the Web.

Goals:

  • to examine several different types of access technologies

  • to look at some guidelines for appropriately designed websites using valid hypertext mark-up language (HTML)

You Will Learn:

  • how to analyze existing sites' accessibility

  • how to create a better accessibility for your sites

  • the ways to save your users' time when they work through your site
