 Navigational Cues

For a given activity which involves navigating, such as driving a car, boat or plane, discuss the navigational cues available.

  1. Begin by enumerating the kind of decisions the driver must make.

  2. Now describe the immediate environment -- the car interior, cockpit or helm-- the driver is in.

  3. Now consider all the factors in the world that the navigator relies on.

  4. How do instruments make noting and tracking these cues easier?

  5. Is it easy for the navigator to mark down where he/she is at each moment?
