The Wit and Wisdom Of El Chapulin Colorado

"Follow me the good ones" and "All my moves are calculated" are his most famous  phrases.

The "Chapulin Colorado" is the most popular television super hero for the kids and their parents.

The "Chapulin Colorado" was created  and characterized by Roberto Gomez Bolanos  in a show that has lasted for almost 30 years.

He is faster than Flash, stronger than Superman, and smarter than Batman.

El Chapulin Colorado

Miki 1. The use of the words "madre" can be used in so many variations. For example, something is "a toda madre" or "poca madre" : very cool. If something is fucked up, it is a "desmadre" or "puta madre." D'ya see where I'm going?

2. Well, the word "chingar" has been written about as integral to Mexican culture - Paz and Fuentes have discussed this at length. It comes from Malinche who was the first "chingada" or fucked one and gave birth to the mixed race of Mexico. "Chinga su madre," "Chingadera," "Chingado", etc.!!

3. El Chapolin Colorado - a stupidly absurd funny comedian on television who appeals to children as well as adults.

4. Day of the Dead - this festivity is still practiced throughout Mexico (but more in the southern region) and now attracts tourists from all over.

5. Frida Kahlo - she's the subject of a Hollywood movie w/Salma Hayek - need I say more?

6. Mexican hairless dogs - esquincles - once raised to be eaten by the Aztecs, this is the true Mexican canine - as opposed to the Taco Bell Chihuahua.

7. Fake silver jewelry - sold all throughout Mexico as the real deal - of course its all bad and will turn green in a week.

8. "Siempre en Domingo" - now cancelled - a great show that hosted pop stars from Mexico and abroad. The format is now replaced by many imitators.

9. Tequila - always a good reposado from Jalisco will get any Mexican in a good mood.

10. The UsofA - this is a source of constant love and hate for the Mexican people. They feed from it and spit it out with a whole different taste!

Last question. Are chupacabras the real deal?

Miki Well, if Mulder and Scully are out looking for the chupacabra, it has to be true? Actually, I think I once saw him crossing the river....

The End
